Everton defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Heitinga-c18862 reiterates commitment for club – English Premier League news
Everton defender John Heitinga has said that he is 100 per cent committed to his club and does not intend to leave the Goodison Park.
The Dutch defender is on international duty and will face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hungary-c2920 in a Euro 2012 qualifier on Tuesday evening.
Heitinga said, “Of course, I want to play. I always want to play and especially here at Everton, where I am delighted with the way the supporters have taken to me. I am like every footballer - I want to play regularly and I get frustrated when I am not able
to play and help the team.”
“The manager can only select 11 players to start each game and I am like every other professional footballer in that I want to be in the team. I have confidence in my own ability in the same way as the other players do at Everton,” he added.
The 27-year-old believes that every player wishes to play week in, week out and nobody likes to be sitting on the benches. He feels that every player believes that he is better than the competition he has in the team and if someone
did not feel like this, then he lacks self-belief.
He added that he is happy with the Toffees and he loves to play for the team and for the manager. The former Ajax defender stated that he is never happy when he is not playing a game and he has never met any footballer who is happy
when he is not involved in the action.
The defender added that the manager has stated that every player will get equal playing time and it was up to him to grab the opportunity. He said that he is nothing less than 100 per cent committed to the Merseyside club and wants to take it to new heights.
Heitinga joined Everton from Spanish side Atletico Madrid in 2009 and since then he has made 47 appearances for the club.
