Everton defender Tony Hibbert confident of overtaking Liverpool for sixth spot – EPL news
Everton defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-Hibbert-c35447 is confident that his team can pip Liverpool to the sixth position on the Premier league table in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Everton are currently placed seventh on the League table and drift their Merseyside rivals by 5 points. The weekend’s results have done nothing good to Everton’s chances of sealing a UEFA Europa League berth, as the Toffees lost 1-0 to Manchester United on Saturday at Old Trafford.
David Moyes’ men held United for major part of the game until Javier Hernandez’s 84th minute winner sealed the match for the Red Devils. On the other hand, their bitter rivals, Liverpool trounced Birmingham City 5-0 at Anfield the same day.
Talking to media Hibbert said, “I don’t think we have any fear. We look forward to every game in the Premier League and yes, we're playing teams that are challenging or trying to survive so there's that jagged edge. But we need to finish the season strongly.”

Hibbert rues the poor start to the campaign, as his team failed to win in their first six Premier League matches this season. The defender believes that had they started the season better, they might have gone on to challenge for the top four.
Despite only four matches left to play, Hibbert is confident of his team’s chances of finishing sixth at the end of the season. The 30-year-old hailed his team for a remarkable recovery after lying in the bottom half of the table until the end of February 2010. The Toffees did not lose a game in their last seven matches before eventually losing out to Sir Alex Ferguson’s men recently.
