Everton handed Jack Rodwell and Victor Anichebe boost
Jack Rodwell and Victor Anichebe have handed Everton manager David Moyes a double boost as both players had run outs for the club's reserve team.
Rodwell has been out of action with an ankle ligament injury, while Anichebe had been suffering with a knee problem since last season. Rodwell played an hour in the 5-0 reserve win over Blackpool, while
Anichebe played 20 minutes.
"I think it's getting towards the manager being able to pick from a full-strength squad again.
Everyone is looking like they are coming back and that's good news for the manager," said reserve team boss Alan Stubbs.
This is all very positive news for Everton, as it will provide Moyes with more options all over the pitch. The club will probably forced into playing the pair in a few
more reserve team outings before they can feature for the first team.
Rodwell is one of the best young midfield players in the country and Anichebe is capable of playing different roles in the attack of the team.
Both players give Moyes more choice, which will be important over a busy winter schedule. Squad rotation is going to be very crucial over the next two to three months,
and numbers may be stretched very thin if the pair does not return to fitness.
Rodwell seems to be the fitter of the pair at the moment, while Anichebe still has a fair way to go to regain full fitness. Rodwell could start Everton's next reserve match.
Betting advice
Either one of these players will add a lot of quality and creativity to the Everton side. Back either of them to score when they are back in the first team and creating
havoc among any opposition defence.
