Everton have successfully signed Apostolos Vellios, the 19-year old Iraklis Thessaloniki striker. The English Premier League side confirmed they had signed an agreement until the 2014 season, but the fee is yet to be disclosed. The Greek teenager has scored seven goals in 14 appearances for the under-19 http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908 team and has the potential to improve.
Everton have done well to sign a young talent like Vellios, having not been in the best of forms recently, they are currently at the bottom half of the Premier League table and are struggling to return to winning ways. Their latest fixture was against defending champions in the FA Cup fifth round, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Everton boss David Moyes will be hoping his side does better in the replay, pulling an upset to beat the Blues.
Everton also confirmed the departure of Joao Silva and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kieran-Agard-c20944 on loan for the remainder of the season. 20-year old Silva has left for Uniao de Leiria, the Portuguese first division side, while Agard has secured a deal with Scottish side Kilmarnock. The club believed a move away for the youngsters would be beneficial as they would gain important first team experience.
Eidur Gudjohnsen to Fulham on loan deal
Eidur Gudjohnsen has joined Fulham on a loan deal until the end of the season from Stoke City. The 32-year old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iceland-c2921 international failed to make an impact in his six months with Stoke City, making an embarrassing five appearances. He had previously stated he would prefer a move to Holland, despite receiving big offers from USA and Dubai outfits.
Gudjohnsen said earlier in the week, “I'm able to sign large contracts in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 and Dubai, but my preference is to go to Amsterdam. It is not about money. The sporting challenge is paramount because my career would gain a new impetus. Because my contract is up at the end of the season, I can already leave Stoke for free. I even think that if Ajax can do a deal, Stoke will pay a portion of my salary. I'm willing to settle for much less.”
However, the former Chelsea and Barcelona star has now signed a loan deal with Mark Hughes’ Fulham after his dream move to Holland was rendered impossible. His move, like many others, took place right before the transfer window deadline, but it is understood the player is happy with the move. Fulham recently signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 youngster Gael Kakuta on loan, it will be interesting to see how the two players link up on the field.
