Everton striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yakubu-Aiyegbeni-c37132 eyeing permanent move to Leicester City – Premier League news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigeria-c2970 international and on-loan Leicester City striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has revealed that he wants to make a permanent switch to the Foxes.
Aiyegbeni insisted that he has had enough of Everton. The striker seems to be enjoying his time at the Walkers Stadium ever since he started his loan tenure for Leicester from January 13, 2011.
The 28-year-old while expressing his desire to extend his stay with the English Championship side Leicester City said, “I think I've had enough at Everton and I have to look for somewhere to go, I would love to stay at Leicester. Hopefully I can settle things
there and come back. If I could come and play for Leicester that would be great. It feels like home and I feel like I've been here for three or four years — I'm enjoying it.”
The former Portsmouth and Middlesbrough player, Yakubu has impressed everyone with some of his exceptional performances in the ongoing 2010-11 season. The striker has been in a wonderful goal scoring form of late as he has already slotted 10 goals in his
19 appearances for Sven-http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Goran-c15135 Eriksson’s side this term.
Leicester City manager Goran Eriksson expressed his thoughts over Yakubu’s future earlier this weekend when he said that they are unsure about offering him a permanent deal in the summers.
According to latest media reports, the only reason why Eriksson is reluctant to offer him a new deal is their failure to find a promotion spot in the English Premier League, as he admitted that Yakubu would not like to extend his stay at the Walkers Stadium
especially after the Foxes missed out on a playoff spot. Eriksson said, “I decided nothing over whether to sign Yakubu permanently in the summer.”
Yakubu joined Everton from Middlesbrough in August 2007 for a record club fee of £11.25 million, but his good time with Eriksson’s side has made him to think of not returning to the Toffees.
Yakubu affirmed that the love and respect he has earned with Leicester City and from his fans is unimaginable. Talking about his spell at Goodison Park he said, “I had a great time at Everton but I think I have to move on. I've had a great four months at
Leicester and my season has been really good.”
It is highly likely that Everton manager David Moyes would back Leicester City decision if they offer him a new deal especially after having a dreadful time at Goodison Park. Moyes started to consider him as a luxury at the club after he underperformed big
time by scoring only one goal for Everton in 51 games.
