Everton vs. Arsenal – Match Preview

Arsenal will travel to Goodison Park tomorrow night to take on Everton in the Premier League in what looks set to be a busy and deciding week for both teams.
Fresh from a frustrating 0-0 draw against Aston Villa, Arsenal really need to get a win tomorrow night, but Everton will not make it easy for them. The Toffees are currently a point above Arsenal at 5th, and with only 14 points separating the
top 10 teams, this week’s games will have a huge impact on the league table.
Everton were deadlocked in a 1-1 draw against Norwich last week, and have only managed 1 win in their last 6 games. Arsenal have a good record against them, and will be looking to capitalize on this. Both teams have players returning, so the match looks
set to be a thrilling encounter.
Everton
Expected starting line-up:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Pienaar-c34208.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 will welcome back Marouane Fellaini who missed the game against Norwich last week due to suspension. The influential Belgian midfielder has been an immense player for the Toffees, and was badly missed last week as Everton gave up their 1-0 lead and
allowed Norwich to equalize in the dying minutes of the game.
The rest of the team is expected to stay the same, with a back four of Baines, Jagielka, Distin and Heitinga. In the middle, Everton have Fellaini, Hitzlsperger and Osman, with the German playing in the holding midfielder role, Fellaini operating as the
box-to-box player and Osman in the hole behind Jelavic.
On the wings, Everton will deploy Naismith and Pienaar, hoping the pair will be able to provide Jelavic with quality service and help the Croatian end his goal drought.
Arsenal
Expected starting line-up:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896, Olivier Giroud.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 also returns after missing the last two games on account of a shoulder injury.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 on the bench.
Arsenal will put out their strongest midfield with Arteta, Wilshere and Cazorla. Arteta has been an integral part of the team, playing in the holding midfield role and has been exceptional in shielding the defence and linking up with attack.
Wilshere’s return places http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Ramsey-c3065 on the bench, and the midfielder will be looking to maintain his flying return from injury. Arsenal will deploy Walcott and Podolski on the wings, and hope the pair can provide them with pace, width and directness.
Walcott has been on a very impressive run as of late, and deserves his place in the starting line-up. Striker Olivier Giroud has finally kick-started his season, and looks to be providing value for his purchase. Giroud provides Arsenal with much needed aerial
and physical presence up front, giving their attack a new dimension.
Final Score: 1-2
I predict a 1-2 score line to Arsenal, with Giroud and Walcott on the score sheet and Everton getting a goal through Marouane Fellaini.
