Everton’s David Moyes makes dramatic changes
According to The Daily Mirror, Everton manager David Moyes, is looking to solve his striker problems by resorting to some dramatic changes in the line up.
The manager plans on dropping all the strikers from the side and instead opting for midfielders to fill in the attacking position. The two players that he wishes to use up front are Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellani.
According to the paper, 'The Everton manager showed his hand a little yesterday, when he allowed young striker James Vaughan to go out on loan to Crystal Palace, despite an injury to Louis Saha'.
The managers abrupt decision to deploy the midfielders as attackers can be justified because of the fact that, his only true forward, Louis Saha is injured and the reserve forwards that the team has just aren’t up to Premier League standards.
Some bad news for Bolton fans is the fact that Inter Milan are reported to be after the signature of Gary Cahill. The manager Owen Coyle recently admitted that the defender would most probably out grow the team and the chances of that happening are sooner rather than later.
Rafa Benitez, who is now currently in charge at the San Siro as Inter Milan’s manager had previously shown interest in signing Cahill from Bolton in his days as Liverpool’s boss. However, the move never really happened, but the manager seems to have reignited his interest in signing the player only this time it would be for Inter Milan.
Arsenal and Manchester United are two other teams that have been in pursuit of the player and due to this very reason, the defenders price tag has taken a major jump and he is now rumoured to cost around seventeen and a half million pounds.
In some rather bizarre news, according to The Daily Mail, Athletico Madrid are ready to make a shock move for David Silva, despite the fact that the player has only been a part of Manchester City for a couple of weeks. According to the Mail, 'The big money signing from Valencia this summer has struggled in the opening weeks of the season and City manager Roberto Mancini admits the Spaniard needs time to adjust to the Premier League. However, Atletico are ready to make a move should Silva remain on the fringe of the first team'.
This move is by far the most ridiculous thing to come afloat in recent football history. However, if it is one that goes through, then it would just happen to be the most outrageous and inexplicable transfer in the history of football.
In more believable and probably more likely news, Joe Hart is expected to have a major spike in his wages at Manchester City. The club are looking to make the keeper one of the highest paid keepers in the Premier League’s history in order to commensurate the players rise to become the number one choice keeper for the England national team.
The keeper is expected to have his pay increased by nearly three times and will be earning around ninety thousand pounds a week. If this happens then the new England number one will become the second highest paid goal keeper in the Premier League. He would only be second behind Chelsea’s Petr Cech, who currently earns almost one hundred thousand pounds a week.
The increase in the player’s wages could only help spur him on even more, since it would act as a positive reinforcement to his performances. If that does happen then the player would begin to operate in a class of his own and would truly be phenomenal to watch.
