Everton’s Yakubu wants to make his loan move to Leicester City permanent – EPL news
Everton striker Yakubu has revealed that he has enjoyed his temporary stay at Leicester City and would love to make it permanent once the season ends. Yakubu was loaned out to the Foxes during the January transfer window and has been in sublime form under
the management of Sven-Goran Eriksson.
The Nigerian enthused that he has had some terrific moments at Goodison Park but stressed that the time has come for him to think about his future. Before joining the Foxes, Yakubu hardly found a place in Toffees starting line-up which prompted Everton manager
David Moyes to loan out the 28-year-old at least until the end of the current 2010/11 season.
The striker believed that he could have a bright future at Leicester City and wished to continue playing under the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 manager.
Speaking about his time at Everton, Yakubu said, "I think I've had enough [at Everton] and I have to look for somewhere to go - I would love to stay [at Leicester]. Hopefully I can settle things there and come back. If I could come and play for Leicester
that would be great."
The 28-year-old came to Goodison Park in 2007 after serving a couple of years with Middlesbrough. During his stay with Everton, the striker managed 82 League appearances for the Toffees and bagged 25 goals before making a loan move to Foxes.
The former Portsmouth man has had a terrific time with Leicester City, scoring ten goals from just the 19 appearances. He insisted that he would love to thank the Toffees manager, who did his best to offer him chances in his side but wished to make a permanent
move to Leicester to continue upon his bright spell.
He mentioned that he already has won a lot of friends while playing at the Walkers Stadium and also thanked them for the whole hearted support they have given him.
Yakubu concluded by saying, "I had a great time at Everton but I think I have to move on, he said. I've had a great four months [at Leicester] and my season has been really good.  It feels like home and I feel like I've been here for three or four years
- I'm enjoying it. The players and the fans have been really nice to me and hopefully I will see them again."
Everton are currently seventh in the League table with 48 points and have three games left to play in the entire campaign.
