It feels like my arm falls asleep every 5-10 minutes. If I don't move it when it happens, it gets worse. If I move my arm when it happens, it goes away for another few minutes. It does not seem to matter what position my arm is in, it happens every 5-10 minutes. This has been going on for a week or so now. It's just my left arm, from my bicep down to my pinky finger.

  1. You're saying that your arm goes numb right? You might be having nerve problems. You're arm goes numb when the brain stops recieving signals from your nerves. This usually happens because people push on their nerves and disrupt the path to the brain. If this is happening to you suddenly and you aren't in an odd position then it may be a symptom of a condition. Has your arm recently been injured? Are there any other problems?

  2. I had similar problem after an accident. You possibly have a hyperflexed ulnar nerve or Cubital tunnel syndrome. My left arm went numb from my elbow to my ring and little fingers. Like you, my arm never turned colors or swelled up. It just popped loud and bam, numbness. I went to 3 doctors, physical therapy and a neurologist before I knew for sure. Then I went to a specialist and had surgery. After surgery and several visits to more therapy. I now have feeling back in my ring finger, but, my little finger is still numb.

I suggest you see a specialst and get properly diagnosed. That's what I did.

    That's my opinion anyhow.

  3. sounds like you may have a blood clot. Are you on any meds that can increase the risks of that? IF it starts swelling or turn blue/purple get to a hosp ASAP. A family member of my was just rushed to the hosp w/ this problem and it turned out to be a blood clot.
