  1. I found a lot of great information in the integrated front line delivery of the first page I went to in the main site.  This is a UK initiative that is somewhat new from my quick glance.  I know its a lot of info, but you could easily find your answer by looking a little deeper.  I would say that they support you by having all of this information, as a mission statement of being proactive instead of reflexive.  Read the info, its all there.  In my short read I found many examples of "prevention" and "collaboration" which lead me to a conclusion.  You are supported as a practitioner by being empowered to execute this mission with support of the initiative and the very rare collaborative efforts of may others!!!  This is quite an aggressive and ambitious proposal. It seems that this is supportive of you because this brings the importance of your role in the developing child by considering THEM as a unique learner.  Perhaps this helps clear it up?  Write me back if I am off a bit.  I often am.   Here is but one small passage.......

This means that the organizations involved with providing services to children - from hospitals and schools, to police and voluntary groups - will be teaming up in new ways, sharing information and working together, to protect children and young people from harm and help them achieve what they want in life. Children and young people will have far more say about issues that affect them as individuals and collectively.

Over the next few years, every local authority will be working with its partners, through children's trusts, to find out what works best for children and young people in its area and act on it. They will need to involve children and young people in this process, and when inspectors assess how local areas are doing, they will listen especially to the views of children and young people themselves.

    * As for the second question???  Is this for school??  I found this in less than a minute!!!  I dont do your homework.  I will give you just a sentence of the mission statement and comment that you are supported by having a documented standard of priciples/practices that empower you as a learned and informed caregiver. Many centers are void of this type of barometer....consider yourself fortunate/supported due to this!!  Here it is from the main page of the site.

All providers are required to use the EYFS to ensure that whatever setting parents choose, they can be confident that their child will receive a quality experience that supports their development and learning.
