We live in Hampshire, near to Heathrow airport. Where do the Canada Geese over winter and where do they stop to rest and feed as they must fly over the Atlantic.

  1. we have autumn here not " fall "

  2. They do not cross the Atlantic. Canada geese were introduced to the UK a long time ago so people who like shooting water birds could shoot them. However they proved to not be as good for shooting at as was hoped-something to do with how high they fly I think-so they were basically left alone and have bred and become really common all over the UK.

It's likely that in spring the group you see are flying to wherever they are going to breed and in autumn to wherever they are going to winter but it will be in the UK.

  3. The ones you see mainly over winter on the Lakes around London and the Norfolk Broads ,but they will take residence on any large stretch of water,

They do not fly across the Atlantic.

The ones you see in the U.K. have been born here and are descendants of escapees from Slimbridge , other Parks and Private collections.
