Every single video I play is really, really dark.

Question

I have VLC, divx, windows media player, and nero vision. The videos started to become dark after I dowloaded a video editing program. I eventually dowloaded k-lite and the problem stuck. Even weirder, I found something an icon on my desktop that states, "set video mode to opengl". If all of my videos I play are set to my opengl options, how do I fix this? Please, I REALLY need help.

This is going to be tough to answer without knowing a bit more, however, it sounds to me like your video card settings got a bit "out of wack" (technical term).  My suggestion is to go into your video cards settings and try to set them to defaults.  Right click on your desktop, select properties, go to settings, then advanced settings.  You should be able to access your video card's settings there, and, hopefully, find the "set to defaults" button.  Set everything you can find back to it's default location, as I'm not sure what specifically is causing it.  If there is a "video playback" button, go there.  Good Luck!!
