okay here goes i will show you my steps and maybe you can figure out how i screwed it y...grrr

-3(-4-6y)+7(-1y+5)=-8

12+24+-7+35=-8

20y+47=-8

from here i did minus 47,cancelled, then minused it from -8, then divided by 20.

And then on my other problem i did

5(4+2x)-(8x-12)=68

20+10x-8x-12=68

8+2x=68....from here same thing again...same problem. any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated

  1. -3(-4-6y)+7(-1y+5)=-8

    12+18y+-7y+35=-8 (u multiplied 6*3 wrongly)

    11y = -55

    y = 5

    5(4+2x)-(8x-12)=68

    20+10x-8x+12=68 (you used -12 instead of +)

    2x=(68-12-20)=36

    x= 18

  2. the solution the great one provided is correct, except y = -5 in the first problem.

    you seem to have problems handling variables, i'd suggest training that
