Every time i play the sims 2 it crashes and i have to restart my computer, or it goes to a blue screen

after a couple of min playing it either crashes or it goes to a blue screen saying something like it had to turn off my game so it could save my computer help would really be appreciated (:

Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This  problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes .
