Question:

Every time i run my sides start to hurt?

i have been walking for 2 months on a tred meel, and just recently i have been trying to run on it, but every time i do for 3 minutes my sides (like below my rib area) starts to hurt, like cramp up, whats the problem?

i also do not eat for at least 4 hours before running

  1. Sounds like you could have runner's stitch. It helps if you don't eat for 3 or so hours before the workout and stretch out the abdomen before you start running. I've also found that doing ab workouts helps as it makes the muscles and tendons in that area stronger. Check out my source for more information.

  3. the problem could also be because of lack of water to your body. but after awhile your body gets use to it and the pain will eventually go away, because you will start getting stronger and healthier just don't stop continue exercising everyday.

  4. ignore the first dude...that happens when u first start running....after a couple months the pain will go away.

    that used to happen to me all the time....but after u build your stamina up...it will not hurt anymore.
