The receptacle she uses has a tv plugged into it but it's usually not on. Most times the ceiling fan in the room is on also. I'm usually in the bathroom with the light on when the breaker trips. Why does this keep happening?

  1. you have to first run hair dryer in another circuit if that trips then probably a bad dryer, you then have to know everything that is plugged into the circuit with the problem,(maybe a freezer or air conditioner),  then you are overloading the circuit but if nothing much else is on then its probably has a bad circuit braker. You are able to get 1500 watts from a 15 amp braker and 2000 watts from a 20 amp circuit  you can swop breakers of the same amp rating to check it but turn off main power first, if your not sure what your doing let someone else do it

  2. Buy a new hair dryer.  My guess is that it has a damaged cord from coiling it during storage.  They're cheap so no biggie.  If that is not the issue then you need to figure out what other high powered appliances are on that circuit and change some things around.

  3. Most appliances, even a tv on a off mode will still draw from your electricity if plugged in. Depending on how old your house is, how the wattage was set up you may have over load just in one section of of your home. Salons have similar problems. Its annoying isn't it.   You can actually burn it out if you keep having this problem with out having it looked into.

  4. Overloaded circuits or a bad hair dryer. I had one that did the same thing, just replaced it and no more trouble.
