  1. its time to upgrade to broadband....    dial-up is a thing of the past..

  2. Call your service provider i had the same problem with my dsl there was like a little cable inside the phone jack that made my service drop every time i used me phone. They'll send someone over, but b4 you call make sure everything is installed correctly because that might be the problem. Try to recommend the problem because it took them a while for them to find out what the problem was.

  3. Sounds like dial up.... :)

  4. have you got your filters pluged in to all telephone sockets

  5. if it's dial up (god I feel sorry for you if it is) you should put a *67 and a comma in front of the number you dial.  It disables call waiting.

  6. - Switch DSL filter with another filter just to be sure it is ok.

    - Have you switched or purchased new telephones recently?  Unplug all phones and only test with older corded telephone and see if that works.

    - Too many telephones on lines can load it down and cause loss of signal strength.  Isolate by disconnecting all but one.

    - Do you have wireless network?  Is it 2.4 Ghz?

    - Apparently, some of the 2.4Ghz cordless phones can interfere with some 2.4Ghz wireless routers.

    - Have you done any telephone jack or cable rewiring recently?  If so make sure all connections are correct and no wires reversed.

If all of the above are ok, then your phone company may need to test your outside line for degradation or deterioration of quality.  If there has been a lot of rain, outside buried lines can become degraded by water seepage.

  7. sound like dial up best to contact your provider

  8. Yes.  Probably a faulty filter.  Try another.

  9. If you have dial up and are using the same phone line for your internet, then that's the problem.  I don't know what's wrong if it's something else.

  10. Check your internet settings. This might be because it is on dial up..

  11. If your not on dial up, try moving your phone away from your computer, it may be picking up the signal from the phone being to close. The phone works on the same signals as a computer does.

  12. You may be having a signal issue from your local hub, if you are on DSL.  If you are not on DSL, but have VOIP telephones, you can have the same issue.  You might want to contact your provider and find out if they can take a look at the signal being sent to your home.  It may be that there is a drop when your phone is activiated, or the signal strength isn't sufficient.  These things can change over time, so calling them is a good idea.
