If you come to chennai, and get the live experience. This is the best way to feel the chennai traffic. The govt is involving only welfare and development activities but not the projects to ease the traffic. I expect the opinions of the intellectuals to find out a solution so that the situation can be balanced. thank you.

  1. better practise to live in h**l, there is definitely no sollution with growing apathy

  2. introduction of new buses and strict rules.

  3. It can be handeled by opeaning a new bus ur own bus service

  4. banned buses..and walk....

  5. I think this is just a part of the problem caused by more and more people moving int the cities. Most of the cities especially the metros are bursting at the seams with massive pressure on road space, transportation, water supply and sewage. Apparently no sooner the road width is widened than the traffic has increased 4 times and we are back to square on. May be the answer is reduce congestion by increasing oppurtunities outside the cities.

  6. give it to the B.E.S.T. to manage it. it is really the best

  7. If i get Chennai autos in my dream, i sweat.. It has become more dirty, with foul smell.

  8. even, i had same the problem,I suggest to purchase a bike/car.

  9. By not travelling in buses. Jokes apart. What needs to be done is by the Govt and the Chennai Municipal Corporatins.

Any govt works only if thee is a public out-cry for the lack of services. To create that kind of frenzy to shake up the Govt machimery one has to moblize people, involving your time and money. I wonder if you can do that. Most of us can't. So we are stuck where we started from.

Another way could be that some NGO (s) could take up the issue by using PIL(Public Interest Litigation) and also RTI.

  10. Government has already laid out a plan for Metro train which might solve the traffic problems soon. They are also extending the roads in lots of places. Also changed lots of roads to oneways in such a way to control the traffic. We have to support the government to do it. Some of the people are not providing their home, commercial places for expanding the roads. So, the problem is with us and not with the government.

  11. The situation is same in all metro cities may be worse in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
