  1. Well, I'm 5'8" and 17 with more to love, and my 14hh mare carries me with no problem.  She's the smallest I ride, and the largest is 17.2hh.  It's just preference really.

  2. It depends more on the shape of the horse than the height. Just going by what you've given, 13.2-15.3 would probably be best. Anything over 16 hands would probably be way to big. And you're short enough where you can try ponies, but just look to see how well they take your leg up.

    Good luck!

  3. 14.1

  4. 14-15 hands high or larger. I am 4'9" and 13 y.o and i ride 16 hands and 14 hands so yup...

  5. At least 13.2 hands, I'd probably say 14 or 15 hands

  6. I would say you would want atleast a 15 hand horse. If you get one smaller you may feel to short on him, if you get one 16 hands he may feel to big to you. But you could probably fit on a 14.3 h horse but Honestly I realy, wouldnt go any shorter then that. 15 hands is a good average size.

  7. I'm 5'3" and until this decade typically owned horses that were 16 hands plus.  Now because of age I'm down to 15 hands, BUT found out that they are harder to get on than my 16+ hand horses!  ROFLOL

Anything over 15 hands should be fine.  You're still growing and will fill out as the years pass.

  8. You are going to grow, so don't worry about the size of the pony/horse that you are getting now...you will learn to make adjustments to mount.  It doesn't cause quite the stir when a smaller person is riding a larger horse as if a "too large person" is riding a smaller pony, so I would look to the future, as you will probably be riding this horse for some years.  I would look for a horse that is at least 15HH and up...If you find one that is 16HH and you get along, don't let your size/height stop you, as I said, you will grow to fit your horse.

  9. I am 5 4 and slim and 13 and i look really good on a 15 hands horse, so w will say about 14.3 to 15.3 you would look good on. just make sure you like the way you look on the horse too. because you never know, you could look good on a 16 hands horse, you just got to try them on, as i say

  10. you'd look fine on anything 13 hands and higher

but its not the height. its the personality
