Everyone forgot me =(

Question

Everyone forgot my birthday except my sister and mom....my dad didn't call. My dad I am assuming went early to Canada for my cousin's wedding which is next week. And it agitates me even more because my cousin's family hasn't talked to us in 10 years. They never even bothered for us And we had gone through so much and they never bothered with us. My best friend forgot and that hurt me too. When her 16th birthday arrived I was the only friend that she invited that showed up for her party. No other friend of hers came. She would rather spend time with her Bay Area boyfriend whom I don't approve of. He is a bad egg. My aunt who never forgets a single date didn't even call. We invited her to go out with us tomorrow to eat but she never responded to our calls. We called countless times during the week. Someone who was in my Spanish class left me an email and I hardly know her. That brightened up my day. Any help will be appreciated. So am I am just being a whiner or is my anger justified? I am highly considering breaking all ties with these people. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Best guesses:

1.  Can't say "everyone."  Sister, mom, and classmate didn't forget.

2.  Dad is a ditz.

3.  Best friend is a ditz and furthermore has gone gaga over Bay Area boyfriend; this has left her is a state of (hopefully temporary) insanity.

4.  Aunt is carrying on a secret affair with a foreign diplomat and hasn't listened to her answering machine in a week.

Yahoo grammar checker is saying, "Hmm. . . it looks like you have a lot of punctuation."  It hasn't noticed my choppy sentences.  SpellChecker didn't like "hmm," so I'll say it again.

Back to the subject at hand:  I presume dad doesn't live with you?  If he lived with you at some time in the past and seemed to remember your birthday properly, then possibly mom was reminding him.  My mom once complained that everyone had forgotten *her* birthday.  I pointed out that I had said happy birthday first thing in the morning.  So was I a bad amy02 for not having alerted the others that they'd better say happy birthday or else? or was I merely avoiding insulting their intelligence?

Your anger is justified.  It would be better for your overall health if you learned to laugh at the fallibility of the people surrounding you.  If it really hurts to be forgotten when you have made an effort not to forget them, then it could be time to widen your circle of friends.  Not necessarily to dump the existing friends, but to cultivate friendships with people who agree with you that this is important.

Maybe their just busy.

maybe your family is going to do something to surprise you for your birthday! who knows?!

but whatever you do don't even consider breaking ties with family and friends, especially family! something as little as forgetting a day,month,and year shouldn't be a reason to break ties, they love you, and just made a small mistake.

last month was my 17th birthday and it was the worst day of my life..

but i mean you cant always be pesstimisc about things all the time. breaking ties with everyone just because of that isnt such a good reason but i'd tell your best friend what the h**l? and make her feel bad about it but i mean just always try to be optimistic about things it'll get you far better off then being gloomy and in one spot..
