  1. For a little country, we sure do kick *** when it comes to sports, well we try anyway. Leave us alone, we're not that bad. Why shouldn't we host the 2012 Olympics?

  2. You appear to be working your way up the scale of contentiousness!

    Not biting the bait.

  3. Why don't you get off your self-righteous backside, get training and win us some medals in 2012.  If there was a competition in narcissism, you'd win gold.

  4. Should be focusing on American's winning..Go USA

  5. Who's this 'everyone'?Beg to differ.Britain has produced some world class athletes in its time

    time

    2004-

  6. wow, how inconsiderate of the British athletes who train their asses of to look good and compete with the other nations. try being in their shoes, and see what they go through to train 4 years for the olympics. and hosting the olympics doesn't mean that you have to be the best.  so shut up and go outside.

  7. Im british and i agree, but unlike the likes of the chinese, we are not a race of robots.

  8. I have to admit, since my child's school adopted a policy of non-competitive games on sports day I have my doubts about the abilities of the next generation to compete at international level.

This is a trend that New Labour started and the poison is spreading through the veins of the nation.

It pains me to accept that Britain medal winners dwindle with every decade. It is unlikely that we could ever compete with some of the handpicked slaves of communist states bred to win propaganda victories. It is also difficult to compete with the USA that is so wealthy and has so many people to draw from.Nevertheless,if our youth were taught the value of winning from an early age,as the Americans are, then I am certain that there would be a few more medals coming home.

    May Blair burn in h**l.

  9. American"men" play rounders netball and hockey. These are regarded as girlie games in the UK.

  10. Hmm i could have sworn i just saw a british 25 year old woman just win a gold medal in the cycling! i think you are wrong and the british team could do without negative comments like this.

  11. Actually Britain isn't doing that badly, we're sixth in the table so far which isn't bad. I think the government needs to spend more money on sport and getting young people into sport from a young age.

  12. we got 2 gold medals AND a bronze today last count...so you can get lost...what a horrible question!!

p.s. ha ha...funny answer above me!!

  13. Still not biting 'liked'. Do you know that the first modern Olympic games were held at Much Wenlock, shropshire,UK. about 150 yrs ago. I live about 5 miles from there. It was called then the World Olympiad.

  14. c**p...c**p....c**p

  15. Nope, I totally disagree. We are currently in 7th position on the medals charts of 204 countries. We are normally in the top 15 by the end. We are suspected to win a total of 35 medals, beating Athens' 2004 victory of 30 medals (9 Gold, 9 Silver, 12 Bronze) And have so far won two Golds and one Bronze in just three days. For a relatively small nation, we've done well, and continue to do so.

London has hosted the Olympics twice before, 2012 will be the third (the only country to do so, and will have hosted the Olympics the most times after America)

Britain has fantastic athletes, some mediocre, and some no-where near an Olympic standard. But, overall we are a good team.

  16. We are in seventh place at the moment...hardly c**p......Are you a glory hunter like most Man U fans?.....Give them some support instead of slagging them.

  17. Really? So what happened today then? A gold and a bronze for swimming - in the same race!!

I do however agree with you that we should not be hosting the 2012 games - our country is bankrupt and we simply cannot afford to host them. Is there any wonder the Queen was annoyed that they hadn't gone to Paris??? She's not daft!

  18. Well, wev'e had enough of them pumping Christ knows what into themselves !

  19. And could you do better.
