  1. Women come in all stripes. Maybe it's time that the Democrats got the memo.

  2. Yes, and it was the best move he's made so far, he just clinched the presidency!!!

    McCain/Palin 2008!!!!!!!!!

  3. Yes--JMc thinks, that we will "think" he's becoming more progressive.

She is so AGAINST Abortion, that she's not even willing to have CHOICE for women pregnant through rape or incest--wow!  talk about hard core.

i hate to say it, but maybe that's why she's got 5 children--i mean, really, BIRTH CONTROL is the best prevention for unwanted children, unless you get pregnant through rape/incest.

  4. McCain lost many voters for many reasons....

  5. actually, the right is against all gun control. The NRA is vehement in their opposition to ANY form of gun control. But they see nothing wrong with the government controlling a woman's right to choose or and individuals' right to wed. And yeah, mcbush picking a woman in an obvious attempt to pander to the woman's vote is rather pathetic. What mcbush fails to understand is, women are more intelligent than he gives them credit for and most won't fall for this feeble ploy.

  6. McCain really wanted to put his friend Lieberman on the ticket but none of the GOP hardliners or Rove would let him. His campaign has been taken over and run by those goons essentially since he won the nomination and it's clear they'll be in control of his presidency.

  7. I suppose you feel we should all be in our kitchens frying things for you instead.

She is a strong leader in her own right and you'd better not try to sell her short just because she is a woman. Your question is a thinly veiled sexist attempt to demoralize her efforts..

          McCain/Palin '08

  8. I think everyone knows why mccain picked this woman that 90% OF the country doesnt even know... She calls herself a hockey mom? McCain has  had cancer 4 times, if he dies i dont want a "hockey mom" to protect me and my family or run the country for that matter

  9. I do, but you have many who are too inept to see right through this! They even have them saying that this chick with ONLY a B.S. can govern  300 million people and trillions of dollars!

  10. all the biilary supporters can now jump on the mccain wagon. all they want ia  a woman elected. they don't care which one......................

  11. a lot of conservatives see mccain as moderate and not as conservative. palin is hardcore conservative. good choice to lock in us "religious rightwing nutjobs".

oh and Alfredo Garcia, you know "progressive" is just another word for "liberal" right? liberals dont like being called it so they use this word instead.

  12. Uh... Halloween P - learn how to spell before you call people dumb, OK?

and, Dr. P. Zimbabwe, you think McCain has let his campaign be taken over by THOSE guys??  Boy are you naive.

Uhhh, hey, "whatever" - it's you LIBS that don't want your children!!!  Just going around ******* all the time for fun, but OMG if you happen to get pregnant and have a baby!  oh My!  (sarcastically)

  13. yeah hes trying to show that he chose a women and obama didnt. Funny thing is that he is always critizing obama for not having "experience" but yet he chose someone with little experience. i mean geez the guy talked to her once and suddenly boom shes VP? wow what an idiot.

  14. Ha Ha-  Whatever his reason it is a brilliant choice!  It has energized our party like nothing ever has before.  I know 3 people personally that have gone from undecided Hillary supporters to McCain/Palin voters.  Obama was dumb not to pick Hillary- it probably lost him the election.

  15. He saw it was time, that that was what people were ready for, and decided.

It's unfortunate that only one motivation occurs to some people.

Tells us a lot, whether from a republican or democrat.

    Democrats for McCain/Palin.

  16. Yeah Mccain just made one of the worst choices in his life by picking Palin to be his vp. What a disaster!!!

  17. I don't care about everyone else's opinion, but I am for guns and anti-abortion. I'm all for a woman in office, but I wouldn't have voted on Hillary if she had won because I don't believe in her views. I still know a lot of blacks who wouldn't vote at all if Obama wasn't black, and still don't know all the issues he stands for. (And by God, if I see another person post that same old line about wanting something different than Kool-aid, I'm going to scream.)

  18. Pretty much.

  19. That woman is for every right wing idea there is.

Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

She was elected Alaska 's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.1

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2

She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.5

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.7

This is information the American people need to see. Please take a moment to forward this email to your friends and family.

We also asked Alaska MoveOn members what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking. Here's a sample:

She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today. —Rose M., Fairbanks, AK

She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She's a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska. —Christine B., Denali Park, AK

As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. —Karen L., Anchorage, AK

Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position.—Sherry C., Anchorage, AK

She's vehemently anti-choice and doesn't care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary. —Marina L., Juneau, AK

I think she's far too inexperienced to be in this position. I'm all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn't done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain's part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he'll get our vote by putting "A Woman" in that position.—Jennifer M., Anchorage, AK

So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She's a global warming denier who shares John McCain's commitment to Big Oil. And she's dramatically inexperienced.

In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he's made a very dangerous decision for our country.

  20. I read that it was an act of desperation on his part, because in the polls he is not winning by any means. Plus people are tired of seeing boring white men. That sounds pretty close to me.

  21. Yes she is just a fixture to get votes

  22. whether or not it was meant to win over the clinton supporters, who it really won over was the far-right and christian conservatives, who would not have voted for mccain because he is too liberal, had he not chosen her.  I expect it gave him a couple million votes at least.

  23. I have no idea... I think both Obama and McCain picked interesting candidates for vp...

  24. Yes, it's really pathetic, and insulting to Hillary supporters. It will backfire big time.
