  1. The first thing to do is setup our your budget for the whole wedding. There are programs on some computers that help you set that up. Then plan how much you can spend for each thing, (flowers, ceremony, reception, limo, photographer (if you want one) and music or DJ). THere are books out there that help you plan, but I bought a Bride magazine with a checklist of timeframes to order things and mail things , like the invitations) and just used that. The rest I planned my self once I figured out how much I had to spend, then I went looking for a location, checked prices and determined that first. Then I figured out the food since my location was a county club they were able to give me a price for food. Then I went and looked at flowers and told them how much I could spend and picked out the number needed and got the price for that. Then I went and looked at cakes, ended up picking out one from Publix Supermarkets because they were able to deliver the cake and it was a good price. Basically you just go from there, figure out your colors before ordering the cake though and flowers. Also you will need to know how many people you need or want in the bridal party as well. Good Luck, its stressful but so much fun.

  2. theknot.com is a great site.  I got my dress at Filene's Basement at their wedding dress blowout sale, it was so much fun, and much cheaper. http://www.filenesbasement.com/bridal.js...  I also ordered my flowers online and made my own bouquets and decorations at flowersandfreshness.com, again, so much cheaper and it was fun to create the bouquets.  Just a few ideas

  3. Here are a couple of websites that you can check out. They have lots of information about everything that you will need.

    http://www.brides.com/

    http://www.weddingchannel.com/home.html

The first thing you should do is establish a budget. Once you have your budget you will need to figure out your guest list. The more guests you have the more expensive the cost will be. Then, based on that, you can start looking into places to have the ceremony and the reception.

After you have that figured out you can start on things like food, dress, attire, DJ, flowers, decorations, etc.

Just take one step at a time. Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming - that is why it's best to go to those websites and set up accounts with them. They will keep you organized.

    Good luck and congrats!

  4. Go get a planning book or get an account with www.theknot.com
