  1. the less you pay for a room, the smaller it is.........how much time do you plan on spending in the room?  the fountain card is only wirth it if you drink lots of soda, and doesn't count toward booze.  also, you can only get one drink at a time, but endless amounts.  say you want room service, and 2 sodas.....not gonna happen. it's about 15 bucks if i remember correctly.  you don't have to go to the formal dinner if you don't want to, and you're not obligaed to buy any pictures. you're going there to enjoy your vacation, do what you want.

  2. I don't recall the cost of the fountain card.  The rooms are 185 square feet.  Here are a couple of pictures of a typical Carnival cabin ...

There is one electrical outlet.  If you need more, bring a power strip.

You can get more information at the following website ...

    Enjoy your cruise.

  3. On the Paradise all the staterooms with the exception of the expensive suites are the same size.  The are around 170 sq. ft.  Which is really a lot bigger then some of the other cruiselines.  Some ships in other cruiselines have cabins as small as 108 sq. ft.  So you will have plenty of room.  The storage space is nice, and you can also put your suitcase under the bed.   Where you are located is dependant on what category you purchased.  A category 4A is inside on Riverea deck which is the least expensive cabin .. up to a cat 4E which is the highest inside category.  ALL cabins are the same just different levels on the ship.  Oceanview cabins start at 6A on Riverea up to 6D on Empress deck..again same size as the inside cabins just these have windows.

The fountain card is about 6.00 per day plus gratuity, so for a 3 day cruise you are talking around 18.00 plus 15% gratuities.  If you drink a lot of sodas it could be worth it, but they do serve Iced tea, fruit punch or lemon aid, water, coffee and milk at no additional charge.  The soda card is for fountain sodas only, so you would not be able to order from room service, they would bring you a canned soda and charge around $1.50 plus 15% gratuties for it, up to $2.50 for bottled sodas.  Carnival serves Coke product.  What we do is usually carry a small cooler on with us with a mixture of soft drinks and bottled water.  Carnival will allow this if you dont plan on carrying 2 or3 cases.  Plan on about a 6 pack per person.

There is one electrical outlet in each stateroom located in the area of the desk/vanity. The outlet is equipped with a 3-prong 110 volt and a 220 volt plug. The outlet in the bathroom can only be used for electric razors.  There are no hair dryers on the Paradise, so you will want to bring one if you use it.  Irons are forbidden on all Carnival Ships.

There will be one formal night on your cruise, you can dress up as much as you want...Think prom. formal wedding etc..this is not madatory, but hey its fun to dress up and have your picture done.  The dining room at night does not allow shorts, tank tops, swim suits and used to be jeans, but they are getting more relaxed about this if they are decent.  Women can wear a nice set of capris, or sun dresses etc..dress like you would dress if you were going out to a nice dinner at home.

Dont bother packing beach towels or pool towels they are provided.  Also Carnival Bathrobes will be provided in each stateroom on the Paradise for you use. (they are wonderful)

You will need to set up your on board account when you board the ship.  You can do this with a credit card, debit card (keep in mind they will put a hold on your card and not release it until all charges clear approximately 72 hours after cruise is over..so if you put up $200.00 and charge $200.00 they will hold this, clear the charges, then release the balance.  You can also put cash on your account:

    3 day cruise:                 $150-$200 pp

I hope this helps...enjoy your cruise!!
