  1. Current theory suggests the Universe will expand 'for ever' .. (there will not be a 'big crunch' and thus there will not be another 'big bang' **)

Eventually all matter will decay into radiation .. however this will be so spread out that the Universe will get colded and colder .. hence 'heat death'

** unless humans (or some other life form(s)) intervene :-)

  2. The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.

  3. well before i can answer your question does the universe end i will need to tell you how big the universe is.okay thats give it a go. thats imagine the size of the universe. probaly best to start small and work up. so thats start with something fairly big-the earth. the earth is about 8,000 miles wide. if you drove a tunnelling car straight through the middle. you would get to the other side in 51/2 days going non-stop at 60mph.okay that probaly doesent sound far so thats try a longer jouney.say from here to the moon. the moon dosent go around us in a perfect circle so it gets closer and further away from us at diffrent times in the mount.but on average its about 240,000 miles away. it would take about 168 days to get there in a 60 mph flying space car. similarly the jouney from earth to the sun is 93 MILLION miles so would take about 176 years by space car. to get right accross our galaxy, the milky way, it would take about a MILLION BILLION YEARS(or 1,181,401,000,000,000 years to be more precise !) now think about this we can only measure the universe as far as we can see with the best telescopes, thats about 15 BILLION light years away (or 90 BILLION TRILLION MILES) in every direction so at the speed of light it would take at least 30 BILLION years to cross it thats about 16 BILLION years longer then the age of the universe its self. so does it end i dont know it might even curve back on itself. if that was the case you could circle the universe and end up where you started lol.

so does it end no one knows but with that size there are meany possiblitys

  4. The soon coming "Big Rip" foretold of in the Bible.

  5. that we will never know

  6. Personally, I do not think the Universe has an actual 'end'. Even if it does though there will be more beyond our Universe and more beyond that and so on. There are endless possibilities

  8. Current data suggests that our universe will die "in ice". Not literally, but if the current accelerating expansion continues, the universe will expand forever. Eventually, all the stars will die. It will take an unimaginably long time for everything to disperse, but it will happen eventually. Life cannot exist in a universe with no energy, so it will be bad news for life.

  9. The end is only the beginning-of the next big bang.  It seems to be one huge cyclical system.  It is a theory in Physics.

Either that, or the one I prefer-there is no 'universe'...there are no computers in front of us...and so on.

Epistemology: how can we be so sure of what we think to be the truth/reality?

  10. scientists theorize that the universe expansion will come to an end when here are no more atoms and enrgy to be released from the center. because of the lake of exertion pressure, the univere will collapse, reversing the big bang; creaing the big 'crunch'.

  11. eventually it will end whether it be billions of year or the mayan dooms day 12/21/2012

  12. The ocean, the sky, and our lives do not encompass everything.  It is therefore a generalization to say that everything has an end.

It is possible that the universe does not have an end, rather it wraps back around on itself.  Cosmologists have not yet answered these questions about the curvature of space.
