  1. Not totally truth. As least the Ministers pay had gone by up to 24% to S$3.09 million per annum.

I also noticed that pay for executive level have gone up, but the the blue collar. Imagine there are still people earning S$500 per month (construction worker), S$750 per month (cleaner), S$1100 per month (security officer who work 12 hours a day with only 4 off days a month) and etc......

The rich is getting richer and the poor is getting poorer.

  2. That's life, my friend.

Price gone up may not be true for everything.

    car/bike - was near $80k now $60+k, $7k now $4k.

mobile phone - water bottle type $2k, now N- series $300+.

Maybe look at the better side, you'll feel better.

Or position yourself as seller, employer and even key appointment holder of the country.

As for me, I do agreed that life is "siong" here.

    What to do, just endure.

All the best for you and me, as well as whoever is reading this.

    Good luck and good health.

  4. hmmm

  5. The prices of things are based upon two inputs: (1) Costs and (2) The market.   Over time, inflation has pushed up the price of everything, except where the market chooses not to buy it any more because it costs too much.  Or if it is something people want badly, the price is much higher than you'd think it should be (like what we pay our pro atheletes).

In the US we often see cost of living increases but the real way to get paid more is to build your skills, grow professionally, and find a higher paying job.  If everyone stays in the same job, there is less reason to increase their pay than if people climb the ladder and new people have to be found to fill those vacancies.  Those new people might not accept the lower paying job, so if the organization wants good people they have to pay more.

In the mean time, my "revenge" on the rising price of things is to buy less.
