Question:

Everything is "tuner free"?

I have expanded cable in my area and I do not have a set top box. I need a DVD Recorder/VHS combo that is NOT "tuner free", but I cannot find one any place.

My cable company said I was fine without a set top box to get TV, so why can I no longer buy a recorder without having one?

  1. They are making the switch over from NTSC to ATSC until everything is ATSC and the price comes down. It's HD that is coming down he pipe.  HD is still to pricy and no mfg is going to add that to the cost of a recorder. Thats just to keep the price down.

The FCC should step in and make everyone put tuners in the recorders. That ain't going to happen though.

  2. try these.
