Everything is still wide open, says Cleveland Indians manager Manny Acta
The Cleveland Indians’ manager Manny Acta has recently expressed his important views in the media about the way his team is going forward in this year’s Spring Training in Arizona and the way his team is going to play in the upcoming season.
According to his statement, he believes that despite the Indians are making some drastic steps forward and playing a balanced and well prepared game in Spring Training, the team still needs to improve upon on some strategic changes.
Recently he said in the media explaining in detail, “Everything is still wide open. I can’t sit here now and say this guy or that guy is going to be in left field. Same thing for the fifth starter, spring training needs to roll on a little more for me to have an inclination of what we want to do.”
He added, “Obviously, it’s something to fall back on. It means that we’ve seen him. But none of that counts when it comes to the competition. As we move on and guys start to get stretched out, we’ll have to make some decisions. But that’s down the line. Like any competition.”
On contrary to Acta’s views on his team’s many positions still to fill, many baseball experts also believe that the Indians now are in serious trouble. First they have not pick some good players in this offseason while secondly this is also a dangerous probability. Relying on experienced players is not a bad practice, but giving young players not a proper responsibility can also bring some serious issues to a certain franchise.
Here the same situation is happening with the Indians. They have several players currently, who have led the team for many years and also led well. Now the team will be looking to turn their attention to new blood who are at the moment is practicing hard in Spring Training.
From early games of this year’s practice session in Arizona, the Indians young blood is showing some enormous amount of energy and if their late tireless efforts worked out well, the Indians’ results will be far different from last season’s final standings.
