I am planning on getting a new laptop for college which I will primarily use for schoolwork. I want to know details such as how much memory, hard drive, and a good laptop brand to buy from.

I am currently considering getting a macbook. Any suggestions?

  1. i bought a Toshiba with windows vista on it, and it's the best computer i've had. previous to the Toshiba i had a compaq presario (had windows XP on it), which was also a kick a$$ computer, the only reason i sold it was just because im the type of person that i dont like having the same thing for too long, lol, so i sold my compaq and bought a Toshiba which i definitely don't regret!

the best suggestion i can give you is SHOP AROUND!! go check out different stores, ask questions about the computers you are interested in!

  2. Macbooks are pretty good but a bit pricey, if you really want to spend the money then go for it, but Dell is a pretty good brand from what I have seen and they are more reasonably priced.  The only thing I would advise is avoid Windows Vista, it seriously sucks *** I wish I could go back to Windows XP.  Avoid brands like Sony and Toshiba, they honestly are c**p when it comes to laptops. This is just what I was told when looking around :)

  3. Fantastic idea! GET A MACBOOK. It will not upset. In fact I'm on one right now! Love it. Most popular college computer on the planet. Great computer, fast and great support. When you go to buy talk to the geniuses at the Apple store and tell them you intend to use for college. They will help you select the right amount of RAM and HD space. You already answered your own question! Great pick.
