Everytime I ask my pony to canter, she goes into a gallop straight away and I find it so hard to pull her up.?

What can I do to stop this?

I would get her check by a vet and make sure she is not acting up out of pain. If he thinks she is good to go then try trotting her in a large circle then pick up the canter (while maintaing the circle). If she tries to run away, keep her turning and make the circles a little smaller. She will have to concentrate on being balanced and moving her feet versus straight running. When she slows down try to go straight. If she speeds up do some more circles and sprials.  

Also, you will probably get more responces if you put it under Horses instead of Other.
