Everytime I open my my yahoo page I get this: Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.?

My browser will not let the page stay open, giving me this error message: "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I'm using IE6 and this is new since last night on my home PC. Everything was fine until then and it was fine on my work PC today, but not at home. I rebooted, but that made no change. Can anyone help me?

  1. I'm having same problem and then some!!! did u close out all the tasks pages at the upper right before you rebooted or hit the start key then hit restart??


  2. Hi!  A lot of folks have had trouble (like I did) getting to their MyYahoo page. I reaaly am not in a position to address any technical issues.  All I can offer is that I saw a number of responses last Saturday, and technically correct or not, the 'best answer' one that worked like a charm for me was this:  Completely shut down your computer (don't just 're-start'.)  Give the computer's hard drive a minute or two (so your hard drive can come to a complete stop) and then power back up again.  I can offer no promises or explaination about it, but I do know that it seems to have worked for me, and have have had no problems since.  There's not harm in trying!  I hope it works for you,too.  Blessings...

  4. go to internet   tools  option   clean out browser cookis history   temp  files and use a registry  cleaner if you have one also  you can try clicking  on general and use  default  that is in options,,
