Everytime i log onto my xbox 360 and sign in to xbox live it keeps repeatably saying to sign in.?

i sign in to xbox live and it keeps saying connect to xbox love and i already have a miilion times but it keeps saying connect to xbxo live and i have checked all over the internet including to microsoft website and it will not tell what is the matter because no-one knows and i thought maybe someone on yahoo has had the same problem and can help me. please help me someone i am desperate. and when it does work it only loads my friends i cant view my messages, sign in 2 messenger or view players please someone help me.
