  1. aye shave slower and make sure you use plenty of shaving cream and moisturizer

  2. The red bumps can be ingrown hairs or razor burn. As the previous posters have said, it can be caused from:

    1) Dull razor blade

    2) Shaving in the wrong direction (You are supposed to shave opposite of the hair growth on your legs for the best shave)

    3) Not having enough soap/shaving cream on your legs while shaving

    4) Shaving too hard (too much pressure)

    5) Shaving too fast/carelessly

If you hate shaving cream (like I do) try Venus Breeze. It lubricates your skin and isn't messy at all! I usually get really smooth results from it. I also have dark hair that grows fast, and I shave about every other day (nobody really notices the little prickles, really! Even my boyfriend doesn't care.)

If you hate it so much, you can try using a dipillatory (sp?) such as Nair, or even waxing (ouch). Waxing lasts the longest, but it hurts the most. I'd go for the dipillatory.

There are also lotions that you can put on the red bumps to soothe them after you shave. They even sell lotion that slows hair growth (or at least makes it less noticible). Try Sally Hansen's Smooth Glow lotion. It makes stubble less noticible AND has a self-tanner in it, which has a nice, natural glow to it, and helps to cover up your dark stubble too! I'm pale as a ghost, and it really made me look like I had a natural tan AND does reduce stubble!

    Good luck!

  3. it sounds like you're prone to folliculitis, or inflammation of the hair follicles. Sometimes this is a reaction to the shaving cream or soap you use, so you could try switching to a sensitive skin type shaving cream or soap. Also, it's very important to shave "with the grain," so to speak. That usually means to shave down, from knee to ankle, to reduce irritation of the follicle and hopefully reduce the tendency toward ingrown hairs. Also, go nice and slow, not too fast. Finally, what type of lotion to you apply? Make sure it's fragrance free/dye free. I have had success with applying over the counter 1% hydrocortisone cream after shaving to reduce the red bumps.

    Good luck!

  4. uhmm shave slower

  5. try new shaving cream!

  6. those are called ingrown hairs, and so far, me AND my mom haven't found out how to get rid of them, sorry :(

  7. Soak in the tub before you shave.  You're shaving off your goose bumps because you're too cold and you're using the wrong tools.

Don't use shaving cream, they contain irritants like menthol just to give a cooling feeling.  Use conditioner (yes, the kind you use on your hair).

Don't use disposable razors, use men's with a disposable blade only.

Everyone has to put on lotion and everyone has to shave every day.

  8. try a product called "coochy cream" it's just for that issue of red bumps, you can go to www.justforfun/angelav. and purchase the product on line,i swear by it!

  9. if you can afford it use a electric shaver. try that  if not   why not invest in wax if you cant do it yourself salons charge like 30 dollars to do it and it should last like 2 or 3 weeks. with some minor shaving unbeatenn and after some time your hair will thin out

also shave 25 min after you wake up and after you take a hot shower if you do it before your skin is not really awake and really stiff let your skin be limber

also you can use shampoo or cond.  when u shave i did and it works wonders

sorry its my only recommendations unless you want to spend some money an go to a ideal image

  10. it could be the razor blade...which brand do u use?

Venus or Divine is good.... why dont u try the Nair or Veet ...

  11. Either the cream isnt right for your skin, or your going too fast

and cutting your legs without realizing it.

I think you should get the cream for sensitive skin.

  12. Well it might be ingrown hairs or maybe try changing shaving creams. my sister had ingrown hairs and her legs were red and bumpy and sometimes she got dry skin.
