Evga 9800 gtx + vs other nvidia based card?

i haven't open it for fear that i pick the wrong card

from past question toms hardware was mention & i did a little googling search on it

is this the best nvidia card for under 220.99 usd

at frys where i bought it they had a couple 8800 series under 200 and i was wonder if that would of been the better choice as most site i have check out have a card in that series on top

  1. if you have $200 to spend you would be better off with an ati 4850. they are a lot quicker than the 9800's.

    also, there are a lot of problems with the quality of nvidia boards right now

    If you still want nvidia,

    An 8800gt can be had for $110 on tigerdirect at the moment (this is a fantastic price for this card, which is quite powerful)

    You could get a 9800gtx+ for the price you are paying for the gt.

    Its a much quicker card than the 9800gt you are considering for $220

    And if you want a real beast

    The 9800 gtx+ does win in a few benchmarks but ovverall the 4850 is better.
