CSKA Moscow midfielder, Evgeni Aldonin, has congratulated his teammates upon reaching the next round of UEFA Champions League after winning the last group stage game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan.
Aldonin admitted that the last group stage game was very important to them and they put their heart and soul against the Nerazzurri to claim the much needed three points.
CSKA were not involved in the Champions League, last season, instead they played in the UEFA Europa League, after finishing fifth in the Russian Premier League.
Aldonin revealed that he is delighted to have played in the Champions League, expressing delight at his team's performance and assured the fans of more hard work during the next round.
The Russian midfielder was then asked to pick a possible opponent out of the remaining teams. However, he refused to single out a club, revealing that it does not matter whom they are drawn up against and urged his teammates to
focus instead on their performances.
“There are only two teams, which I do not want to get at the moment, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. These clubs are now the biggest threat to any opponent. These teams are very interesting to play and a challenge for any team.”
The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Staying on the topic, the former Rotor Volgograd player revealed that he would love to play against their fierce domestic rivals, Zenit St. Petersburg, in the Champions League final, if they both managed to reach the final at Allianz
Arena.
Aldonin went on to reveal his surprise over the group-toppers, Apoel FC, and revealed that the Cypriot First Division club have stunned the other three members of Group G, who had earlier won UEFA Cup in 2008, 2009 and 2011 respectively.
Aldonin praised LOSC Lille, the French champions, and admitted that the Mastiffs caused them trouble at Luzhniki stadium.
