Ranked 127th in the ATP World Tour Rankings, Evgeny Donskoy, outmuscled the local competitor, Adrien Bossel, in the first round of the Geneva Challenger 2012 on Tuesday. The Russian professional jolted down his straight
sets win, 7-6(1), 7-6(3), at the indoor hard courts of GreenSet GrandPrix, Switzerland.
The 25-year-old, Swiss participant, held his initial serve in the opening set and despite of his lower rank, he confidently drew the first blood. Immediately, Donskoy thundered in retaliation and brought down the scores to 2-all
in the fourth game. However, the Swiss senior jumped forward, squaring down the score sheet after every alternate game until and dragged the set into a tie-break with a 6-6 score. In the tie-breaker round, the Russian professional sustained his poise and proved
absolutely ballistic by finishing the set with 7-6(1).

In the second set, the right-hander Russian contender held his lead by grabbing the initial two games and marked a 2-0 lead. The Swiss professional responded by cashing his only lone break opportunity in the third game and stamped
a 2-1 lead. Both the competitors battled hard against one another and evened out the scores, brushing each other away. Eventually, Donskoy terminated the set with a 7-6(3) after a tough tiebreaker round.
