Evgeny Korotyshkin win Men’s 100m butterfly gold – Swimming News
Evgeny Korotyshkin of Russia clinched gold medals in the event of Men’s 100m butterfly on concluding day of the 2013 French Open Nationals Championship in Vichy on Sunday, July 7.
Korotyshkin lived up to the expectations of his supporters in the final round of the 100m discipline as he swam his way towards the finishing end for the title.
With his notable efforts, he managed to outperform his toughest challenger over the finishing end. He faced tough contest from his following swimmer in the double lap discipline, as he transpired on the finishing end for the title.
He faced strong contest from his closest swimmer in the first lap, but with his invincible efforts in the playoff, he captured gold medal of the race by producing a time of 52.52 seconds.
The champion was chased by Francois Heersbrandt of Belgium, who was more than a body length behind and hit the wall for silver medal by producing a time of 53.88 seconds.
Third fastest spot of the discipline was secured by Spanish swimmer, Jose Manuel Valdivia Canizares, who stayed only 0.05 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal by producing an effort of 53.93 seconds.
On the other hand, German swimmer, Lisa Graf occupied the title of Women’s 100m backstroke. She showed no mercy to her challengers in the short event and cruised her way towards the finishing end for the title.
Her commendable form placed her in a lead of just one arm stroke over her following swimmer as she snared the title with the timing of 1 minute and 01.64 seconds.
The second best finish of the race was obtained by Cloe Credeville, who was 0.13 seconds slower and touched the wall for silver medal with the timing of 1 minute and 01.77 seconds.
Third position of the event was secured by Spanish swimmer, Duane Da Rocha Marce, who remained only 0.12 seconds apart and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 01.89 seconds.
In addition, the arena applauded for scintillating efforts of all participants in their respective events while the winners collected medals after the race.
