Evgeny Petrov and Timmy Duggan joins Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank

Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank continuous to expand its 2013 after the Danish side hired the services of Evgeny Petrov and Timmy Duggan along with extending Takashi Miyazawa’s contract for the season ahead.
Petrov has secured a two-year contract with the team after spending the 2011-12 seasons with Team Astana.
His two-year term with the Kazakhstani team was bit of a disappointment after he failed to claim even a single victory during the past two seasons and his most recent commendable performance was a stage 11 victory at the Giro d’Italia 2010.
On the other hand, Tim Duggan has ended his two year association with Team Liquigas-Cannondale after he joined the side back in 2011.
“I am thrilled to make a late signing into a fantastic situation,” said Duggan.
“Throughout my career I've admired Bjarne's world-class focus on the team aspect of cycling and I always wanted to be a part of that.”
He is the reigning US road race cycling Champion and his storming performance earned him a contract right away, with the Canadian side Team SpiderTech.
However, the team announced its demise by the end of 2012 season as it is focusing towards getting the World Tour status by 2014.
Spider Tech is a mass producer of Kinesiology tape used by several athletes and has decided to merge with Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Team for the current season before applying for its own licence.
"We are getting close to finalizing our 2013 roster, and with the confirmation of these three riders, we are adding solid depth in different areas of the team,” said team owner Bjarne Riis in a press release.
“Duggan is a climbing all-rounder, Petrov a strong all-rounder and Takashi a great helper when setting up a sprint for his team mates”.
“I believe these guys will bring great value to our roster, and I look forward to them joining our team for next year”.
Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank had a tough season after losing its star rider after he was found guilty for doping at the Tour de Franc 2010.
However, Team General Manager Bjarne Riis has done well to keep the team together and also found the new sponsor Tinkoff Bank which will run through the team in 2013 season.
