Evian Masters 2012: Eyes fixed on Tseng as she will face rivals with new bagman by her side
Current world number one Yani Tseng might have been faltering and struggling to prove her mettle since her last victory at the Kia Classic in March 2012, but she is eager to become unbeatable once again with
the new bagman by her side.
Tseng, who has not been able to display her trademark performance in the last ten tournaments she has played in the current season, has said that she has been feeling confident since she took on board Basil
Van Rooyen as her new caddie.
More importantly, Tseng’s new caddie is expected to play an active role in the coming Evian Masters 2012, scheduled for July 26-29, at the Evian-les-Bains, France. The top-ranked prodigy is in the roster of
the Evian Masters 2012, and atoning for her past lapses is her biggest concern right now.
Analysts said that it remains to be seen how Tseng capitalises on the skills of Rooyen, but it is more than likely that she will come up a completely new strategy for the coming match and will battle rivals
with new vigour.
Moreover, the Taiwanese star dispelled the negative claim that she blamed her former caddie, Jason Hamilton, for her grim performance in recent tournaments. Tseng said that she does not believe in humiliating
anyone and she has a great respect for him.
She explained that when she was facing a series of defeats, she might have reacted to her below-average performance, but blaming Hamilton for her losses is out of the question.
“Jason Hamilton [is] a very good guy and great caddie, too," Tseng said. "But I had a little struggle these couple months, and I just feel like both of us, we need to do take a little break…. I still think
he can help me, but I think it's more my problem, because every time I hitting bad I kind of blame on him. I don't like that, so I tell him that we need a little break and see how it's going in the future".
Now that Tseng has hired a new caddie, her fans who have always been pretty touchy about her wins and defeats will be keeping a close eye on what she does on the course.
