Evian TG looking for a goalkeeper for the 2011/2012 French Ligue 1 campaign – Ligue 1 news
According to reports in French media, newly-promoted French Ligue 1 side Evian Thonon Gaillard are in the hunt of finding a suitable goalkeeper ahead of the start of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign.
The Gaillard-based side are currently without a goalkeeper with the experience of playing at the top level and with the injury to Bertrand Lacquer who will miss at least four to six weeks of action, coach Bernard Casoni is looking to bring in a new shot-stopper
in place of the 34-year-old former Nancy custodian.
Reports now suggest that in order to start their first Ligue 1 campaign with an experienced goalkeeper, Casoni is considering making a move for former German international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 football suggests that the German could be a great bargain
for the club as he is a free agent.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699. However, the Blues are not looking to sign him on a permanent deal which means that Evian could land the 32-year-old’s signature.
The German could also be tempted by a move to the Haute-Savoie club and Hildebrand’s leadership qualities could prove decisive in Evian TG’s battle to stay in the Ligue 1 beyond the 2011/2012 campaign.
Meanwhile, Evian are also keeping tabs on 25-year-old French forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jean-Eudes-Maurice-c18186. The Alfortville-born forward is under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until 2012 but the Parisian club’s recent spending spree in the transfer window could allow the
PSG direction to let him go.
Maurice has so far played 55 games for PSG and has scored four goals. Following the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 from Manchester United means that Maurice won’t be getting many chances to impress the
PSG hierarchy.
Evian might find it easy to lure the forward to the Parc des Sports. The club has already signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sidney-Govou-c33474 and Jerome Leroy. The arrival of two new players with sufficient experience of playing at the top level would definitely help Evian TG make a good
start to their first-ever season in France’s topflight.
