If the police had video evidence of you commiting a crime wouldn't they arrest you right then and there???

  1. Correct. If they have evidence, ex: of you shoplifting from a store, and your mug matches the surveillance video/pics then its off to jail for u.


  2. Not always. You want to make the best case that you can. Despite what you think a video is not always the best evidence. The vid only sees what it is pointing at and has little context.

    Also a vid is not a complainant. Does the victim wish to go forward, does the prosecutor (the person that ultimately charges you with serious crimes) think there is enough for charging and trial?

    In the real world things are more complicated then in and hour TV show.

  3. Most likely, they would arrest you on the spot.
