Question:

Evinrude Grommet? Now what do i do that it's out?

I pulled out the water pump grommet that feeds the power head by accident. It is a 1989 evinrude 30 hp..... Can i feed A new one up there with the copper pipe, or do i have to tear down the power head to put it back....sigh...dumb i know, but it just pulled out when i removed the lower case....

Yes, you can put a new grommet on the water tube and get it in the base of the power head.  There's a couple tricks, the first is to use gasket sealer on the outside of the new grommet, the second is to glue or rap tape around the tube it self to prevent the grommet from slipping down the tube as you push it in.  Then note the little round nub on the outside of the grommet, trim it off, it's just to difficult to get in place.  Also use a good light so you can see what your doing.  I had a round wire brush to clean the hole and you have to be gentle.  Good luck.....Oh, It's not to bad a job to pop the power head up if it comes to that.  again good luck!
