would like to get outboard running and usable. where to get guides and info regarding this motor.

I think you have run the model and serial number together. double check. if the model is 4447 then its a1952 model many parts are still available thru different sources. there is also a antique outboard motor club of america that you can get a hold of. I have the original parts manual for that motor and can answer questions but it is not for sale.

GMC might be right....I woulda guessed 1974. Plenty of guides available.
