  1. 2 because he didn't really know about genetics.  He spoke in terms of variations but not specifically about genetic mutations.

  2. no where in his book (the origins of species) or notes did Charles Darwin ever use the term "survival of the fittest".  He did say "In the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals because they succeed in adapting themselves best to their environment.".....He coined the phrase "Natural Selection".  The actual phrase "survival of the fittest" was coined by a Mr. Herbert Spencer in 1864 only after reading Charles Darwin's book.

Darwin wouldn't be able to see any variations due to genetic mutation largely b/c mutation in a species requires years upon years upon years of slow change.

Rapid fossil formation really has nothing to do with evolution of a species

While exposure to environmental pollutants would possible be a contributing factor to mutation again Darwin would have no way to measure those claims.

I propose an option # 5 where we use the correct term of Natural Selection.  And if anyone wants to get all pissy about it and all and say "well ts the same thing" then #1 and #4 are the exact same thing..........mutation occures in response to factors within the enviornment.  That and I'm really big on using the correct terms and ending the cycle of horrible public educational terms.

  3. Judging by the question you provided, it sounds like you need help on your schoolwork. Perhaps you should have studied more.

  4. survival of the fittest. Charles Darwin talked about natural selection, how certain traits are selected for or against depending on factors such as environment. This means, that those that are capable of surviving in their environment will live and be able to reproduce to pass those genes on that are needed to survive. This is survival of the fittest.

  5. macroevolution is a lie
