Thank you for the only answer. It appears I've either got the others thinking or running for their lives.

  1. The idea of evolution is that species with an advantage over others go onto reproduce more and pass on their genes to the next generation.  An ability that you could do after you died wouldn't help you pass on your genes to the next generation so it can't really be determined as evolution

  2. Creationists, calling us 'evolutionist' still doesn't put you on anything like an equal footing in terms of evidence. You get your butts kicked out of court every time you try to show the creation is anything but a religious myth.

Downloading a personality into some kind of computer, possibly.

  3. No, creationists, it's impossible.  Traits aquired through evolution are only those beneficial to a species' survival and reproduction.

Anything like this would be purely technological, not natural.

  4. Our consciousness is nothing but a bunch of nuerons firing in our brains.  I don't see how anyone could ever preserve or move them somewhere else, while keeping all the millions of connections intact, nurished and in the same exact patterns, no matter how advanced we get.  It's like building a time machine, it just ain't gonna happen, I don't care how smart we get.

  5. Not unless you downloaded your brain contents onto a CD!!

It is obvious you do not have the first clue about evolutionary processes.

  6. one thing about evolution is

no one is ever going to determine what is going to happen

evolution isnt just physiology..its ideas concepts beliefs attitudes and awareness

how does anyone know or prove that our consciousness (or our souls) arent saved after death

the one great paradox is that we arent meant to know any of these answers..

    if we did

    we'd just mess everything up
