  1. "Evolutionists" is a correct term, which leads me to believe that those who began their answers claiming that it wasn't are NOT evolutionists or likely anthropologists and are not familiar with anthropological theory.

To answer your question; unfortunately there is no way of knowing.

Globalization, and the diffusion of technology will very likely effect what we become.

Physical adaptation to our environment may be trumped by technological adaptation to our environments (e.g. clearly, colonizing space will not lead to us developing the ability to "breath" in space.)

It is possible that humans in the future will have increased difficulty living in natural environments due to lack of resistance to germs and disease, but even that is unfounded stipulation.

There are so many factors evolution is dependent upon.  Our understanding of the process is still inchoate.

  2. I'm pretty sure we're slowly losing our pinky toes, since I know a couple people who don't have pinky toenails.  But I guess that's more of a transition because I don't think any breakthrough will come from not having pinky toes.

  3. we shall lose our lower limbs (or they shall become little more than vestigial limbs. our hands & fingers shal increase to freakish levels of speed/dexterity/muscular proportion (games consoles/computer keyboards)

  4. I think it will involve cybergenetics, we are causing our own evolution.

  5. everyone will have a sudden urge to do ur mom so watch out!!!

  6. we are devolving bc poor people are having more kids who get fed by the rich but live with lazy morons, so it is all downhill from here

  7. we only use a tiny portion of our brains now, and it is such a mystery of how it works. by us depending on technology so much we will lose part of our memory usage. we use speed dial, so we dont have to remember phone numbers, we can voice activate things today, our kids only want computers/electronic games they become less physical and lazy, i think we see the effects of technology convience with our kids. like the speed dial, would they know moms work number if they used an old phone....

  8. There is no such thing as an..."evolutionist"!

There is evolution. You may accept it or not; it really doesn't matter which.

There is also no such thing as an...mathematics-ist or a physics-ist or a literary-ist.

There are, however, creationists, they pretty much don't know what's going on.

  9. judging by what we evolved from already...

At the start we looked like Monkeys, and slowly we got taller and more "erect".

In the early 1900's the average height of men in europe was 5'6-5'7. Even in history pictures, men were shorter and stumpier.

    Now the average is 6'.

We are just getting healthier, and the hormones we feed our cows goes into our meats, and eventually we're all going to be Tall Humans.

Imagine girls average height 6'1 and guys 6'5....

The NBA at that time would be like 10 foot tall guys...

  10. we gonna be Dainosours

  11. Assuming humans migrate to outer space their bodies will adapt to weightless environments. We might be able to grasp things with our feet and eventually we might become blobs.

  12. Currently the trend is to smaller jaws and no wisdom teeth.

High tech industry seems to be producing people who think more like machines more than usual (asperger syndrome) and there are quite a few other divergences becoming more pronounced.

It is very hard to predict what traits might become dominant in the future or even if any of them will.

We might be looking at different populations beconming increasingly different and ending up with a speciation event.

What the species will be like depends totally on the environmental pressure.

If we don't do something about the damage we do to our environment we might evolve into an extinct species.

  13. prehensile tongue. think about it...LOL

  14. What's an evolutionist? I agree with the person above me. Evolution exists, regardless of whether you believe in it or not, I think the next step will involve something small, like the changing of some organs, since we're coming up with more scientific breakthroughs I would think they would try to strengthen lungs, and perhaps our hearts, to try and solve problems with asthma and heart problems.

  15. Perhaps Barbara B would like to tell us what the last great evolutionary step was ?

  16. We'll probably be born without tonsils or appendix. That will probably be the next big evolutionary step, beyond that it's anyone's guess.

  17. FOr me

    we didn't even evolve

    God made us....

  18. er... what was the last step? Or what was any step?!
