Question:

Evolving slug-crayfish...or what!?

I have standing water in my backyard, a moat if you will, and I found these slug like creatures that swim.

It looks like a slug, has the antenna and same body, BUT it has crayfish legs on its upper body, and when removed from water it "lashes" like a crayfish. It has no tail.

I have done research and it's not a leech.

Can anyone help me find out what this thing is? We have pets and children I would like to keep out of harm.

Could I have some sort of evolving slug-crayfish!?

  1. Doubtful, as evolution is physically impossible and an elaborate lie that has blinded many in the science field for so long.

More than likely you have a nymph or naiad of some type of insect, such as a dragonfly or something else that lives or lays its eggs in the water. If you can, catch some in a baggie or jar and take it to your county extension service. They should be able to tell you what it is at no cost to you. Or a local agriculture or biochemistry college. :-)

  2. what you have is a crawdad that is molting and the shell is not formed yet for it's lower body--could be due to lack of minerals in the water
