Evra leaps to De Gea’s defence as United prepare to face Tottenham – English Premier League
Manchester United’s full back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 De Gea before their next English Premier League encounter against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. Evra missed out
on Manchester United’s opening fixture of the 2011-2012 Premier League season with an injury as the Frenchman was left out of the Red Devils’ squad when they faced off against West Bromwich Albion on the previous weekend.
Evra is geared up to take on Tottenham Hotspur on Monday but the Frenchman is also hopeful that his club’s new goalkeeper will come good this season. Manchester United bought http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463 earlier on in the summer as they wanted
to replace their departing goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar. Van der Sar called it quits after Manchester United lost the UEFA Champions League final against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
United paid around about 18 million pound for De Gea’s services to Atletico Madrid but the Spanish shot stopper’s wayward performances for the Red Devils in their win against West Bromwich Albion have raised several eye brows around
the English Premier League. Sir Alex Ferguson has already given his backing to the young Spaniard who will start for the Premier League champions against Tottenham on 22nd of August, 2011.
Evra stated in his latest interview that De Gea has come under severe criticism, the French wing back said, "This is the way when you play for Manchester United – you have to accept the criticism. But I’m confident everyone is
behind him and he’s a very talented player and I know he’s going to make it"
Evra went onto explain his disappointment on being left out of United’s win over West Bromwich Albion last season. Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 started at the left back spot. The former Monaco left back elaborated,
"I was really upset not to start against West Brom because I had a really good pre-season but it was time to take a rest. I had been out with my country playing for the French national team but I’m really pleased because the lads did a good http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
He also added, “It’s never easy to go there and get three points and I’m very happy. It’s true the first game I was really upset because that’s the first time I didn’t start the first game in the league but now I’m happy, I’m back,
it’s four days of full training I’m just happy and hungry and excited to play against Tottenham."
