Ewe Hock intends to add Xtrm colours in the world of badminton
Former World Number two Malaysian shuttler Ong Ewe Hock is busy in promoting his badminton accessories company and claimed that its products will bring glamour and colours to the world of badminton.
Living legend Ewe Hock is co-owner of this new brand named Xtrm which is getting popular among the shuttlers and he was ecstatic over the encouraging response from badminton-mad nations like Malaysia, China and Taiwan.
Former national champion looked in great flow with words also when he played a master stroke and just like a sharp marketing manager claimed that their products will add more colours to the badminton world.
Ewe Hock said, “This brand is quite unique because 80% of its products are in daring, vibrant colours. The colour white is limited. This is the change that we are making to bring more colour to the world of badminton.”
The top Malaysian player of the 90s bid farewell to the sport in 2002 and after ten years of retirement his love for the game forced him to stay connected with badminton.
Ewe Hock recalled his era when they used to be in simple attire with white kits but he thinks it is right time to spread some colours on the canvas and bring some glamour in the game.
He said, “As a player, I wore everything in white. Now, I am promoting racquets that are engraved with a myriad of patterns; shoes that are pink; badminton bags that are in gold.”
Xtrm is targeting youngsters and Ewe Hock unveiled the strategy by saying that they are planning to organise an age-group tournament in Malaysia, Taiwan and China to promote their business in these countries.
The 40-year-old former Malaysian Open champion believes that time has changed now as youngsters are more style conscious and they look for style and comfort at the same time which they can get in Xtrm products only.
Ewe Hock said, “Times have changed and the new generation of players wants to be seen as fashionable. Our specially designed products complement their needs.”
Moreover, he also admitted that he is thinking to launch his own club in couple of years to groom young talent of the country.
Ewe Hock looks fully charged and extremely focused to make his new venture successful and his unique marketing moves show he is wise enough to play the mind game of business also.
