I've never heard that term, nor remotely thought about what people might think of the fact that I no longer follow Catholicism (or really never did).

never heard of "lapsed catholic" but i've heard of  the Truth.once enlightened by the bible,God's word, i could never consider myself a catholic lapsed or otherwise again.God bless!

There is kind of a prevalent attitude of "you'll be back" - nice and optimistic on their part, but in my case at least not realistic.

EDIT:  Oh, Frog E., I just BET you've found the "truth".  The only thing you've clearly found is hatred towards Catholics.

I am neither "lapsed" or "outgrown" Catholic......I am an ex-catholic because I found out the truth.
